Bird Hunting in Nebraska
Bird Hunting in Western Nebraska is equally rewarding. Waterfowl and migratory birds cross Nebraska through a major flyway. The North Platte River in the southern portion of Western Nebraska provides ample habitat for geese and ducks of many species. From North Platte to Ogallala, Lewellen to Oshkosh and further west along the river to Gering and Scottsbluff, waterfowl hunting flourishes along the waterway and adjacent fields.
Good pheasant and grouse hunting is found throughout the region, especially on the high plains near Sidney and throughout the vast Sandhills region. Be sure you check with local game wardens before venturing into areas of combined public and private access.
